Because they are scum, they didn't get worst company 2012 for no reason.
Because they are scum, they didn't get worst company 2012 for no reason.
Because maxis, bullfrog and Westwood. There is a difference to buying a company and keeping it going while making good games and the utter *******isation that went on when Ea touched a company.
That and the fact they treat their customers like something they stepped in, horrible money grabbing company.
Electronic Arts: Dead Space 3 will be more action-packed in order to appeal to a broader crowd.
In other words, do you prefer a mind-blowing niche experience or a more casual experience that would appeal to more gamers? Well, we’d take the first one any given day. After all, that’s why we love the Amnesia games. Imagine if Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs featured co-op with guns and other features to appeal to more gamers. Yeap, it would be awful for its original fans. And in this particular case, Electronic Arts is interested in their revenue instead of the gaming experience. And that’s what is really disappointing here!
EA president Frank Gibeau says that Dead Space needs a number of players roughly equivalent to the entire population of Norway to justify its continued existence. “In general, we’re thinking about how we make this a more broadly appealing franchise, because ultimately you need to get to audience sizes of around five million to really continue to invest in an IP like Dead Space,”
I personally hate Activision more than EA.
There's loads of reasons to hate this ****stain of a company.
1. They shut down online servers for games after just a year, or if the game is an annual release, only the latest release will be open how else do you encourage people to buy your new version?
2. Their excessive DLC, much of which is actually content made during development of the game, but cut out and held until later release for more money - or even on the same day of release!not the only company that does this, are EA much worse?
3. Continuous buyouts of smaller studios which get shut down before their time agreed
4. Constant re-releases of the same game every year (FIFA, Madden, and Sims comes to mind) with little to no improvements if you make it, people will buy it. So why not make it?
5. Higher than normal RRPs for boxed games, and far higher pricing on Origin compared to Steam and D2D activision are FAR FAR worse for this. Check the RRP for every CoD release recently.
6. A typical 'me too' attitude when it comes to copying popular games by other publishers that is totally shameless (Medal of Honor/Battlefield copies CoD massively, FIFA has been nicking PES features year by year, their RPGs and MMORPGS all copy Warcraft)please correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't MoH previous to CoD? And WoW/Blizzard are terrible for copying other MMO features!
7. Online passes cutting off content for second hand gamers, such as Mass Effect missing characters, this affects renters, people who borrow games and second hand buyers and the like far be it for the creators of something to try and get a cut of the huge second hand games market that directly effects new game sales?
8. EA's DRM is some of the worst in the industry; you have a 5 install limit and always-online only practice on some games, only Ubisoft is worse than EA for this sort of thing. only come across one game with the 5 install limit and that was five simultaneous installs/active devices?
9. They treat their workers like ****, with 60 hour weeks - unpaid - and anti-union practices loads of businesses treat their workers like **** with unpaid but mandatory overtime, tight deadlines that can only be met with more hours etc.
EA is unique in the industry that they do so many abhorrent and horrible practices in one go. Most developers and publishers stand out for doing one or two bad gimmicks, but EA is the king of mediocrity.
Peter Moore is a ****ing shameless liar when he claims they don't huddle around in a dark boardroom, collectively dreaming up different ways to squeeze every last penny out of our wallets. They would mug you in the street if they knew they would get away with it.
