Why Do People 'Hate' EA? - Seriously? What is that all about? We asked EA.

6. A typical 'me too' attitude when it comes to copying popular games by other publishers that is totally shameless (Medal of Honor/Battlefield copies CoD massively, FIFA has been nicking PES features year by year, their RPGs and MMORPGS all copy Warcraft)

Battlefield 1942 released 2002, Call of duty released 2003...

There is not much difference between MoH and BF3 infantry granted.

Id say a lot comes from the annual re-hash of the NA Sports franchises.. especially Madden which is HUGE in terms of numbers and the fact that they bought the NFL licence to pretty much stagnate the market and put out a product that has borderline 'upgrades' each year.

NHL is similar but they pushed the boundaries a few years back to bring in EASHL but have not overly improved since then... NCAA again its the Madden testing ground to a degree, but still never that much better as it should be.

Their NBA farce and FIFA which again although it came from zero to hero overnight with its OTP and the crippling of PES, its not as good as it should or could be and still is a yearly rehash of what went before it.

Thats just me from a sports perspective.

Outside of that, I have one gripe only with EA... WHY DID YOU SCREW UP MOHAA ALL THEM YEARS AGO!!! I KILL YOU.

I just played C&C4 they completely ruined it!, the acting... cutscenes... low unit count... short story campaign it's really awful and my hate of EA grows ever stronger. I'd be happy to pirate every damn ea game and buy anyone elses :rolleyes:. Westwood would cry in their graves

Haven't bought a C&C game since Generals even I thought they was poor compared to RA2 + Yuris.

I enjoy BF3 somewhat on rush just like in Bad Company 2 but I still feel it would be better if it was slower paced and they did different objectives like Enemy Territory : Quake Wars which got all the classes involved in the map instead of just planting charges here and there.

Thats what conquest is for on large maps.

Conquest is constant flag capture / defend and is very repetitive. ET:QW was rush style but some objectives you'd need engineer, some recon, others support class and that was in every map.

I kow this i used to play et:qw a lot but what im sayign is on conquest maps there is a role for every class and your screwed if you dotn have enough of a class. Unlike rush where the majority of maps you can win with just assault.

Because of Battlefield 3, with its endless "pay money for maps,equip,unlocks..." BF2142 was good... why couldnt they go down same route. I could live with "northern strike addon" But not everything made into addon for which you have to pay for... Soon you will have to pay to use chat. 40 quid for BF3 another 40 quid for premium... £80 on a game... worse of all they will keep adding those add-ons so in the end you`ll end up spending a fortune... They did everything to make bf3 feel un-completed to force you to buy these add ons.. agh

It is this reason for why I don't get the hate for EA. Yeah, they take the urine with what they're doing with BF3, and trying to force origin on everyone but they're not gutting and killing good developers at the rate Activision is.

It's probably because of Origin and various minor nuances that EA get up to which irk a lot of people. Like shutting multiplayer servers a year after launch, having awful CS and banning people for little reason. Producing same franchises year on year without much improvement.

But yeah, I don't like either.:p

YUp - not a fan either. EA have just reahshed the smae old bull year after year. Mind you, take a step back and think to yourselves - if you were out to make money, like every other business on the planet then lets face it - you would do the same.

Its when the soul is removed from the whole debacle that things tend to start getting a little messy.
