Why do so many women smoke?

Some people smoke, some don't, some people find it a turn off, some a turn on, some don't care either way. Why make a thread on it, I find stupidity the third biggest turn off in a woman, I'd say uglyness is my biggest turn off, fatties second, stupidity, then a whole list of other things.

Everyone has dozens of things that puts them off specific women, again, whats your point?

You don't like smokers, don't marry or date a smoker, I don't like women who are peadophiles, like most people, so I won't date or marry one.

But smokers often stink, it's an unpleasant smell. I'm sure you'd fine people who smell bad offensive. What if some one with ridiculously bad BO came blocked you in a narrow corridor? You wouldn't be happy would you?

i wouldnt cry so much that it ruined my life, id be like "dang that was a smelly 10 seconds...." and get on with my life. ;)
 
One of the worst things is when somebody has had a quick fag just before they come into my house.
After they leave me or Mrs Poole are running round with an air freshener.
The very worst is when my Dad brings something in a plastic bag and it's like a Pandora's Box of smoke.
As soon as he goes the bag goes outside with the contents for an hour and once again the house is fumigated often having to leave the doors open.

I'd gladly bring smoking back into pubs but that's because I have 100% seen a decline in pub numbers since the ban and less gigs coming my way.
I nearly always stand with the smokers outside and I can honestly say that I have never heard one of them moan they have to stand outside to smoke, they all seem to have taken it on the chin.

And to the OP -
Yes I suppose I'm a bit childish when it comes to girls and smoking but Cheryl Cole used to be at the top of my list of who I would love to do but after watching a programme where she admitted to smoking between 5 and 20 a day I can't look at her now.

I would guess the smokers that would moan about standing outside and aren't prepared to take in on the chin are the reason for the decline in pubs? :)

Weren't pubs on the decline anyway and the smoking ban has just hastened it?

I only have a cigar once in a while. Maybe once every two weeks. As a treat for being good and not having a drink. Smoking is the only vice I have left. The rest of the time it's roll ups. As for the smoker smell... I don't like smoking in the house. It makes everything reek. Get's into all the fabric. And I'm a heavy smoker. Also coats everything in nicotine/smoke tar or whatever. Gives the place a dank yellow tinge if you're a heavy smoker and coats your appliances. I'd rather sit out the back on a chair and smoke. Not particularly pleasant in this weather, but even still, I won't smoke in the house. And especially not round my computer equipment.
 
No-one in my entire family smokes and as such I would never let anyone smoke in the house either - I really notice the stench. Even if they smoke outside they stink.

I won't dislike someone as a friend if they smoked, but it would put me off a woman as a girlfriend.

But on topic why is it so many women smoke? , there have been a number of times in the past that i've avoided a nice looking woman because she's lit one up. I even said sod it during one part of my life and went out with a smoker. At first it was fine , as she either wore a patch or never smoked near me but the instant she got stressed or worked too much the smoking got worse and worse. The clothes stunk of it , kissing tasted of a cig end and a number of times she'd smoke before sex which was instant turn of. I can't help the fact that it turns me off , i can't help the fact that i just don't like it.

So many times i've spoken to girls and suddenly " yeh i smoke " it's like they are proud of it. I just spoke to a girl tonight we got on really well on the phone until she said " I smoke a lot , i'm a heavy smoker at work it relieves my stress ". You guessed it , instant turn off oh... ok :| . Some of you may hate me for it especially the smokers , but as i said i HAVE given it a chance in the past. :( , it just seems to be the british woman who likes to smoke and less so the blokes or foreigners

I feel exactly the same, can't stand being around people smoking, it's vile.

Infact, I don't have any friends or family that smoke...
 
One of my friends smokes and she always stinks of cigarettes. Not attractive in the slightest. Yellow teeth and manky nails. She also thinks it's a "social thing" but she is always on her own outside smoking as she is the only one of us who smokes. You know whats always in fashion? Healthy lungs, smelling nice, nice nails and non stained teeth.

I would never smoke for all the reasons above and also my boyfriend would dump me and I wouldn't blame him =)

Pretty sure being skint and having throat cancer isn't in fashion either.
Neither is a triple heart bypass.

In the modern age I do not understand smoking in the slightest. Anyone under 50 will be fully aware that it causes premature (often slow) death.

Wink away, but I don't see anyone claiming they cried so much it ruined their life.

I think this is a case of "I can tell I'm joking by your response" isn't it?
