why do women open their mouths when applying mascara?

The mouth (especially the tongue) significantly stimulates the motor cortex and sensory cortex even at rest. Applying masacra requires concentration and fine motor control (if you value your eyesight) so the brain says STFU to the mouth. This usually results in an open mouth, stuck out tongue... driblling... etc. Or was that a stroke....
