Why does steam always say play with friends?

Not in that sense ...i just mean it dosent feel right calling my own kid my friend :) and there should be an option to add family members or friends, dont think like a perv its not good for you..

Yes. He might be your family but he's also your friend.

Go look up the word friend.

I really don't see a problem with the term friend or how its applied in this case.

You be Trollin' :)

dude stfu about child abuse, this a topic related to how steam classes everybody as a friend...

Majority rules.

How many family members do I game with/have on steam? None.

'Friend' works as a generic term for your on-line peers and is more 'friendly' than another term which would apply for every possible person you could add.

Do you have NOTHING better to do than complain about such a trivial matter?

are you saying you have no real life friends with whom you play games over the internet?

Well I know I don't anymore.

I think the point the guy is making is that he expects them to advertise playing Steam games with "Family and Friends", not just "Friends". But "Friends" in the sense of Steam just means people you have added or something like that.

I love how this thread has turned in to OP providing far too much information about his 'family time'.

I personally would be complaining if Steam had a button marked "add family (friends with benefits)" option.

Does that mean i could make my own 'family' and we could rule Steam Mafia style?

"Welcome to the family, we care for our own, you have any trouble with hackers, we deal with them, understand?"
