Why does the GPRS icon show up on my V3 all the time?

The little blue icon like three rectangles on top of each other next to the signal strength meter ?.

All the manual says is that its an icon for GPRS.

Is it normal for that to be there all the time?.

Its just my wife has a RAZR V3, albeit slightly older by about 6 months, and hers never shows that?.

Showing GPRS service is available iirc.

Your wife may not have her GPRS settings setup correctly.

Are you on orange? My N80 did something similar and it was down to Orange's firmware, thought they may have done something similar on the V3 too?

My pda shows an icon when gprs is avalible.

Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly does GPRS do?.

I'm sorry, I'm clueless when it comes to mobiles!!!.

I'm assuming its something to do with WAP browsing the net from a phone?.

Gprs is just a 56k internet connection.
