Every time I go into my bank to pay money in/whatever they always say "your account is up for review, see if we can save you some money" They keep plaguing me to go to these meetings, I've so far been to 2 and all they do is look at my outgoings and try to sell me a massive loan,, now I do have a fair amount of outgoings, I also have a fair income so I don't mind paying a lot each month, cause I know that its being paid off in a meaningful time, but the bank seem to just want to sell me a £20k loan for EVERYTHING I have and pay it back over 10 years... Why don't they just leave me alone, I keep telling them im not interested, now I book appointments and just don't turn up..
It seems the solution to everything is to throw money at it, im not saying I need a solution, it just annoys me that to try to solve peoples problems you put them into more long term debt.... it really sucks.

i always get hassled too, the other day some idiot was trying to get me interested in a mortgage. even after i told him i was renting.

lol..

They make things sound so good, "Well sir, beforehand you had £600 a month outgoings, and after we change your finances, you'll only be paying £130 a month.............." ...... ...... ......... "OVER 15 YEARS!!!!!!111"

A Bank is always after your money. Whatever they disguise the topic as.

Simply tell them if they do not leave you alone you will change bank.
It is very simple. Bring ID and three account slips and voila.

I am doing the same with natwest with, i have been to one of there meetings and they tried to sell me a loan - more money grabbing on there part.

They keep ringing the house phone but as the no really rings for me on the house phone (except natwest) the parents always say i am out.

Now i get letter asking me to ring them

"Invest In This, I Will Call You Every Few Months To Let You Know The Progress"

1 Year Later "Hello..... Can I See *NAME* About My Investment Please?"
"Im Sorry, He No Longer Works Here..."

So Prety Much Banks Are Useless :D

I keep thinking about changing my account, but i've had it open for more than 10 years.. and that looks pretty good on your credit rating.....

Well, Do What I Did, I Had An Acount For 14 Years, And Wanted To Change Bank, So I Started An Account With A New Bank, And Kept My Origional Account, Just To Pay For Online MMO Games, I Put A Little In Every Now And Then, It Keeps The Account Open, Thus Still Looks Good :)

You Could Also Have Your Monthly Incomings Go Into Your Original Account, Then Have A Direct Debit Set Up To Transfer Them Each Month To Your New Account, If You Are Worried About It Showing No, Or Little Money Coming In :)

tell them you are massively in debt with your other credit cards and you're interested in taking the biggest loan available as you'll be filing for bankruptcy within a few weeks anyway :D

Why Are You Talking Like You Are Twelve?

Type sensibly and I'll read your posts.

Sadly everyone wants your money. It's that simple.

Some banks/credit card companies are better than others though. Halifax can be pretty annoying, especially when you've just about finished/or finished paying off a loan. The phone calls never seemed to end. :( MBNA were the worst though. It got so bad with call centres hassling me that I closed my account. That felt good.

Marbles, on the other hand are completely different. Been with them for seven years and the only time they ever bother me is when they think someone is messing with my credit card. Other than that they're just happy taking the interest. ;)

In the end it's your money. Change your bank.

You should be able to ask them to put a note on the systems saying you don't want to be asked for any of this stuff again. It might not work perfectly - I'm guessing you don't have an Advantage Gold account if you're getting this a lot, and that's probably their trigger for asking you. However, if they check the customer systems before asking, then you shouldn't get it any more.

Please don't capitalise the first letter of every word - it makes your post (for me at least) very difficult to read, and it is just wrong!

It's not Lloyds TSB by any chance is it?

Hav
Everytime I go in they say to me "We have a credit card under the counter with your name on it!", grrr, they even hassled my mother when she put some money in for me onetime: "We have a message for your son, will you pass it on, does he want a credit card, we can do it right now for you!"

**** ***!

They refused me a student overdraft when I was at uni, refused me a credit card, because my credit rating was non-existent, even I have never went into the red with them (or anyone else!). Well my credit rating is better they are climbing over themselves to get me into debt, well here is my middle finger TSB _\_

"Another Way"
Indeed, everytime I pay something in its "can we get you a credit card sir?", "are you interested in a savings account with us sir"?

At your interest rates? Yeah right.
