Every time I go into my bank to pay money in/whatever they always say "your account is up for review, see if we can save you some money" They keep plaguing me to go to these meetings, I've so far been to 2 and all they do is look at my outgoings and try to sell me a massive loan,, now I do have a fair amount of outgoings, I also have a fair income so I don't mind paying a lot each month, cause I know that its being paid off in a meaningful time, but the bank seem to just want to sell me a £20k loan for EVERYTHING I have and pay it back over 10 years... Why don't they just leave me alone, I keep telling them im not interested, now I book appointments and just don't turn up..
It seems the solution to everything is to throw money at it, im not saying I need a solution, it just annoys me that to try to solve peoples problems you put them into more long term debt.... it really sucks.

i always get hassled too, the other day some idiot was trying to get me interested in a mortgage. even after i told him i was renting.

lol..

They make things sound so good, "Well sir, beforehand you had £600 a month outgoings, and after we change your finances, you'll only be paying £130 a month.............." ...... ...... ......... "OVER 15 YEARS!!!!!!111"

I keep thinking about changing my account, but i've had it open for more than 10 years.. and that looks pretty good on your credit rating.....

You should be able to ask them to put a note on the systems saying you don't want to be asked for any of this stuff again. It might not work perfectly - I'm guessing you don't have an Advantage Gold account if you're getting this a lot, and that's probably their trigger for asking you. However, if they check the customer systems before asking, then you shouldn't get it any more.

I do have advantage gold actually... I'll tell them next time I go in, I should mention it instead of just trying to ignore them lol...

Its not so much them "offering me loans to pay off my existing debts" the part I find annoying is that it seems to be every banks' single minded approach to solving peoples debt problems.
But in all honesty I don't see debt as a problem providing you can afford the repayments, my outgoings are less than 1/4 my salary, so its not like im struggling.. Its more likley that i'd actually increase the amounts per month to get rid of them quicker...
The bank seem to believe they're doing you a favour by setting up a ten year loan.

I have mentioned it to them before, and I did say "Im not really interested because all they do is try to sell me a loan" to which they replied "oh ok sir we'll make a note of it"

Next time I go in, the computer has flagged me up again, and they keep asking...
