Why i dont buy PC games online

800KBps which is equivilant to 0.8Mbps.

Like another poster mentioned, a lot of people don't seem to realise the different between "KBps" and "Kbps" If the "B" is capitalised it means it's in bytes where as if it's not capitalised it's bits.

Oh the irony :)

Admittedly he won't get 1.2MBps from a 8.2mbit connection (remember this is the speed he is actually connecting at, so he clearly doesn't have a standard 8mbit ADSL max product with an ip profile cap of 7150kbps) but it could be a lot more than 800KBps anyway, up to around 1MBps.

damn i downloaded a 1.1gig patch last night at 5.6megs a sec from the http:// of wow :P i have 50mbit virgin tho

I don't like the idea of buying games online, as you have to wait ages to download it, then you have to install it.

While, with a disc, you just have to install it after acquiring the game. :)

664kbps is not that a bad speed considering you measured it at peak time. Also the warcraft downloader uses peer2peer which isp might be throtting also the downloader is set to saturate your upload which considerably slows your download speed, what i do is go into the downloader the setting and switch of peer2peer and download direct from blizzard.
