After being with Orange since the last century I have at last defected to T-mobile and all I can say is WOW! what an improvement!

I'll give just a brief synopsis of what I was missing.

1. Excellent customer service that actually answer the phone, normally in my case in less than a minute! (I once left my phone for 5 hours for someone to pick up at Orange CS. :)

2. Great un-metered data packages at good prices.

3. HSDPA to go with that data

4. Brilliant access to un-billed call/text and data usage on-line. Information shows up about 20 Min's after you've made a call etc so you can easily monitor your usage.

My brother has been telling me for a year how good T-mobile is and I am only sorry it took me so long to make the change.

lol...as i alway's tell everyone:

NEVER go with orange, especially for contracts, they have wayyyyyyy too many problems and don't treat their existing customers as well as new customers! just not acceptable.

I've never had any problems with Orange, got a better deal than new customers for my upgrade, always get through to talk to someone after 5 minutes. Only problem I have is the heavy branding on the handsets....

If you pay enough, Customer Service is fantastic. On Premier/Panther packages, the phone is always answered in the first few rings.

Did they give you your own personal customer services number as well. :) I guess they must look at how much your paying then decide whether the call is worthy enough. ;) I was on Orange long enough to know which numbers to ring so I wouldn't have to wait too long most of the time I even had my "go to" ext numbers but then there were other times...

I spoke to a few people nearer the top of the tree who told me that basically Orange made there money and now where trying to stop loosing it. Hence new schemes like charging for delivery reports etc. I ask you!

The data was the deal breaker; I've been waiting for ages for a good data package. The £8 un-metered (OWB) data was almost like something for the cognoscenti and you had to be on a £35+ package to get it.

Unfortunately for me everything to do with Orange was on the decline, from their email system (how can you get 1000's of spam before you've even used your email address!) right through to having to speak to somebody on the other side of the world so I have to work twice as hard to make my problem understood.

I am sure that some people have got some good deals on Orange and as ever my case is anecdotal but my goodness, how times have changed.
