why is my 6950 so hot on idle?

ok ive been looking at the idle temps thread and mine seems way hotter than everyone elses

my 6950 idles at 58C [load isnt an issue as i crank the fan up if necessary]

i cant figure the problem, i thought my case had ok cooling

any likely issues or common problems people can think of?

ok i feel like a tard, i didnt think it made that much a difference, no idle at 40C

40 is not bad at all for the 6950, Mine sits between 38 and 45 on idle (depends on room temp ECT) Running one 22" monitor, 1920X1080

yeah the 40 is running a 2560x1440 so im ok with that, so running that + the 1920x1200 increases idle temps by 18C, damn i dread what eyefinity gets to idle, the case must have decent cooling after all [2x200mm fans in and 1x 80mm fan and 1x 200mm fan out]

Mine is sat idle at 46c at 1.15V (50mV over stock).

yeah i disable one display and only use it when i need it so it keeps the card idle temps nice and low
