and more to the point DDR2 is so cheap now due to more supply than demand. Problem RAM manufacturers have is that its not a good idea to stop a fab as they need constant tuning to keep yield high thus even though there's more production than need worldwide no-one wants to be the first to blink and drop out ... so its a war of attrition until, like Qimoda, the money runs out
That's very interesting. Do you know where I should look for a reference on why this should be so? There's a hideous gap in my knowledge between solid state physics and the basic electronics of how memory works, I've no idea why the fabrication step should be so temperamental
should have bought it at christmas when it was still only £39.99. I recently ended up buying off the forums and paying the same price as new 3 months ago lol
The simple answer. If products are stopped been manufactured then when they break they break and they can't replace them as they don't make them no more in the manufacturing factories. Therefor people that have these products do a price increase because people need to buy them to fix their product they currently have thus expensive prices.
The more factories can manufacture the cheaper it becomes.
