Yes, and people deserve have alternatives suggested to them. :)

I got a significant boost in Star Citizen with the 5800X over the 3600, usually conservative with my CPU purchases, hence the 3600, i was tired of seeing even my 2070 Super bottlenecked in that game even at 1440P, so i got drunk, banged my head against the wall a few times to make my self completely delirious and stuck a £440 CPU in my basket while my head was still spinning, now my 2070 Super feels like it has a rocket shoved up its arse.

Star Citizen is a rather unique game in that sense, its a massive world with massive CPU calculations going on., but #### its beautiful.

Shameless plug, the game has a cinematic camera in game which enables you to make these amazing cinematic videos, if you got the skills for it.

This is more what a gamer would stand to gain with a 3080 in paying double for a 5600X over a 11400F.

Ok.... where do you think the 11400F falls in this RTX 3090 1080P slide? 80 / 85 FPS?

Even if you up the resolution in this to 1440P would you still settle for the 11400F or would you want something with a bit more muscle?

the battlefield benchie is interesting..... serious samm.....haha who actually plays that unlike battlefield lol.

imagine paying twice as much then boasting but i beat you in serious sam rofl. yet in battlefield which is often optimized for cpus being slower.

the funny thing is humbug post good game benchmarks that show you right. not **** games. then people wouldnt even debate whats said. its always some **** game where amd wins. not what everyone is actually playing.

And you'd be right, I game at 3840x1600, however I broke my own rule this time round and bought a 10600k at first when I should have bought the 10900k right off the bat but I'm extremely happy with this CPU and it should do me proud for a few years yet while I wait for pci4 and ddr5 to mature.

I don't think many would game at 1080p on a 3090 but even then most who buy 3090s generally fall into the don't care about money category so would probably end up buying a 5950X anyway :p

Looking at those benches, surely before these good value 11 series came out, were you telling people to buy....let's say the 3300x, stonking value compared to the 9th and 10th series and only marginally slower

Unless they are made to believe a higher end CPU isn't going to make a difference to them, long ago i used to think the CPU didn't matter much, not because i was stupid, just ill-informed.

no because the 3300x was still slower than the 10400 for literally same price.

The 3300X was rarely in stock so it was usually between the 3600 and 10400F with the 3600 generally being the better buy especially when it was going for 150 quid last summer.

You can't compare launch price of older tech of one company and price now for the other

The trouble is most reviewers show just 1080p CPU benchmarks so people go away thinking they need these expensive CPUs to drive their GPUs but in reality the majority of people benefit very little if at all when going beyond something like a 11400F when gaming at 1440P or above.

both available at same time and the 10400f is quicker. both on a plate what do people buy ? they buy the 10400f.

its funny cause people hating on intel but if you a gamer oh my intel is mopping up. amd is decent but all over priced and intel is cleaning up because of it.

10400f , 11400f, 10600k 10700k there is no reason to buy over priced amd cpus at moment. as with price cuts intel got em.

You really are so biased. At this moment the 10400/600 or 11400/600 are best value no question, but not the fastest, so tell people to buy intel. Yet last year the roles were reversed, they were the fastest but not best value, and yet you still spouted buy intel. You are unbelievable
