** WHY OcUK VAT RATE TO IRELAND IS 23% !! **

well at least for loyal irish forum members delivery could be little bit cheaper, even that would be bonus and easier implement then other options.

Gotta love the way Ireland have set a low threshold so they can demand more money from foreign companies lol (Threshold is €100k/£75k for the countries with decent economies).

If you can wangle the discount/shipping to bring it more into line, I'll buy exclusively from you guys, regardless of the exchange rate. I've been happy to support ocuk to the tune of a few thousand over the years, and now that I'm actually employed fully etc, I can only imagine my spending will get a fair bit worse. :D

Hi there

The only thing I can think off is to suggest to our IT a 3% discount code for customers both living and shipping to Ireland to try and offset this.

I shall bring it up in next management meeting if you guys think a 3% discount code would be beneficial to apply against your basket.

I think this here pretty much defines the OCUK Customer service.

the fact that this was even raised is more impressive than i have ever seen in any other company.

Thank you OCUK for your hard work great customer service great shop and as we all know, great forums.

From a loyal customer

Harry

Random thought, isn't OCUK affiliated with a German retailer? (I'm not sure how it works as never paid too much attention to posts on it). So can't you put stuff through their books and get €35k at 20% and €35k at 19% before having to pay Irish rate? (assuming the people of Ireland are not buying mass amounts from Germany already).

Scots take note - you'll have to pay shipping and higher VAT when ordering from OcUK if you vote for independence again lol ;)

That'd be a really cool thing to do, even if you can't pull it off, thanks for at least considering it as an option.

There's plenty of other online sellers, both in UK and EU, who don't apply the Irish VAT rate yet I'd guess would go well over the limits - so it's not exactly a fair playing field for you and that I understand, so thanks again for considering the 3% discount.

If you lads could something itd be great.

For example i was looking at buying one of your monitors. Now to buy and send to a irish address it is nearly 6% more expensive in a direct comparison. (and this isn't even touching the dire echange rate for EUR against GBP
