I recently got sent a 7600 gs after my 6600 gt broke. But i seem to be having some issues and the only thing i have changed since having the 6600 gt is a new hyper PSU, but surely this should help it???

Any way, when i load up my computer it all seems fine but suddenly it will slow down rediculously. But if i press alt-ctrl-del it goes away and everything starts to boot up again. I have tried old and new drivers and at the mo im just using the ones from the Cd which are 91.32. I also experience this when tryin to watch videos or trying to run 3dmark05. It just grinds to a hault. My bios is up to date. I think my mobo is upto date but it wont let me install the latest nforce drivers so its either upto date and doesnt like it.

I have also done driver cleaner.

Anything else i can do or try? Anyone else had this problem?

Just tried the latest Beta drivers and they havnt made a difference. However i didnt experience any slow downs when i uninstalled it so surely that means its purely a software issue?

this could be the issue here. you need to get the latest nforce drivers for your chipset installed. what problems are you having with these? :)

Well it will unpack it all alrite but then i kinda get a glimps of the wizard initializing, but then it just disapears. Add/Remove wont let me get rid of nvidia pure decoder thing either.

try and remove all nvidia drivers through the control panel - both gpu and chipset. and then reboot into safe mode and run driver cleaner....

make sure you select both "nvidia" and "nforce chipset" from the options.

boot back into normal windows and install your chipset drivers first. reboot and then install the latest gpu drivers. :)

if that doesn't work it might be re-install windows time.... :p

Tried it all, still had slowing down. But i tried a video anyway. And ended up with BSOD :( It did however mention;

nv4_disp.dll

Does this ring a bell to anybody?

I do think a fresh copy of windows maybe my answer. :(

Sounds like your DiectX is corrupted....have you got the latest version??

Try uninstalling and re-installing DirectX

Tried my Direct X. Found out that it cant be unistalled :S, but updated anyway. Still not working properly. I did manage to find out that it was Msn Messenger causing the slow down on the start up but also found out that i cant play B&W2 :( Any one have any more ideas? It just seems to be certain programs that seem to hate this card.

Im pretty sure my AGP drivers are up to date, however when i tried to install them, windows would restart just before it got to the desktop. I have also noticed that when i look at the Nvidia setting for the 7600 gs. It says the Bus is PCI. :S

Reboots, bsod's, all sound like hardware unstability tbh, try your old psu just incase everything else fails, check for temps in bios incase you accidently shot something loose when bulding in your new psu and gfx (for example ** cpu cooler)...

Ive had the pci/agp bus problem too on my p4c800 deluxe mobo, that was intel chipset tho, newer chipset drivers fixed it and it displayed agp8x after in bustype, it didnt cause problems tho...

Its strange cause the videos will play when im not directly viewing them, eg the menu after pressing alt ctrl del. But when i switch back to them it freezes up again. There must be a solution, there are a lot of people on the nvidia forums with this prob but none seem to have fixed it.
