Why wont this car start? Any help? Urgent! :(

Hi guys,

My gf's car doesnt seem to want to start. Its a 2004 Seat Ibiza, and when the key is turned, it makes a brief and quiet attempt to start, then nothing. Revving will not help..

It has a little symbol lit up on the dashboard of a car with a key directly underneath.. can anyone help??

I would guess immobiliser mate

Do you have the user manual? It should tell you.

Try the glove box; they're often in there.

Looked for the user manual, but it appears to have vanished! :confused:

Try turning the ignition on to stageII/III without trying to start it and press unlock. Might turn off the immoboliser - Im not familiar with Seat though.

If its a 2004 it will still have warranty left on it = Ring dealer
