Why you should buy Corsair

Well, I've bought 1 Corsair PSU. And I've raised an RMA for it. Not a great ratio. And it'll cost me well over £20 to ship it to Holland (unless someone knows a cheaper way?)
I've also got some Corsair RAM that seems to be faulty (not sure how long ago I bought that). But I've bought a lot of Corsair RAM over the years so that ratio is a bit better.

So good RMA service? Yeah, but would be better if I didn't have to ship to Holland.
Good quality? Not so much, in my case it seems.

(To be fair it's not been confirmed that there is an issue with PSU, but Corsair have said they'll replace it (as opposed to test it)).

Crucial were brilliant when I had to RMA my C300. Had a brand new replacement arrive back with me only 3 days later. Was stunned it was so quick! And it had the latest firmware on it which saved me considerable hassle.

Hi All
Good Topis but I am not in favour of the name and shame as it always ends up with a slaging match between people, on the mem side I had a RMA with OCZ and resolved within 10 days, no probs at all.

Personally I regard Corsair as the worst of the top brands, purely because they've always charged more for the same stuff pretending to be better than everyone elses.

Well I think they are better in one important aspect - compatibility. Corsair would always be my first choice. I'm less interested in the last ounce of performance, I'm more interested in fitting some RAM that performs well and just works. And I'm also interested in reliability. No matter how good the RMA is, it is still a big inconvenience being without your PC for 7 days. And for reliability I rank Corsair very highly too. But as always, your mileage may vary...

Another good experience with Crucial here - one duff stick. RMA process took three days from start to finish. The initial phone call to get the RMA took less than 10 minutes.

I have had great experiance with OCZ in the past but recently it seems things have slipped a bit, from my own experiance and general talk. Probably to do with the huge amount of problems with their DDR3 memory (although they are not alone in that). I can vouch for Crucial aswell, excellent service from them in the past.

As you can see from my signature, I like Corsair too. Great products. Fortunately not had any reliability problems.

had no problems with corsairs RMA when my old 2x2gb ddr2 8500c5 kit broke, turnaround was within a week (I had already memtest'd and recorded results).
The replacement kit, along with my previous 2x1gb 8500c5 dominator, my h50, and as of 2 weeks ago my new HX850w PSU have all been faultless, love corsair, and they will almost definitely be my RAM of choice for my next build (SB/ x58/bulldozer/ whatever's out when i next have £500 to chuck about :D)
only thing tempting me towards OCZ is that one of my definite criteria is 4gb modules
