I would like to collect my spare change in a glass bottle. The only coins that will fit in a standard necked bottle are 5ps so I have started collecting those in a 1.5l vodka bottle but would like another bottle to put the other coins in.

Which bottles have wider than normal openings?

As Gilly says those whisky bottles are the most common, of course that usually means you've got to drink through the contents so I'd get a good supply of mixer in and leave a good few nights to do it over.

If you want a smaller bottle then Danzka vodka has a wider neck if I remember rightly, it also has the benefit of tasting pretty good. Pringles tubes work quite well too.

Used to have 1 gallon Dewars bottle that my Mother got me when she worked behind the bar at the Michelin's club. Man, that thing got heavy when filled with 50p pieces.

We saved £1 coins in a demijohn and when we went to lift it to count the coins, the body of the bottle came away from the base leaving all the coins everywhere. I guess that there was a small fault with the glass as the other ones were fine.

We got a large whisky bottle from our local pub.
