Wifebeater Best, please

Have a mate who drinks it and it gets him every time. Ends up mental after 5 or 6.

I've drunk it a few times and never went that that way. Must be something to do with your own personality.

I always found Diamond White made me incredibly aggressive - I put it down to being a chemically laden alcohol that had probably never seen an apple in its life :p

(I stopped drinking it many many years ago)

No other alcohol affected me the way DW used to

It's called that because if you drink the same amount as other lagers you'll become much more intoxicated and thus unable to control your emotions.

I drink it often and never have the notion to beat anyone up.

I think no matter what you drink if your going to beat up anyone woman or man you will do it regardless. Perhaps its just the fact they get a bit more cocky/courageous/stupid when theyre intoxicated.

+1

Although saying that i really dont get/understand why Stella is known as the wifebeater so to speak...when i used to drink, which was yrs ago...i never felt the need to beat my woman and i did enjoy Stella tbh.

I won't believe Stella makes you more violent until somebody identifies the compounds and processes involved. I won't hold my breath.

Far more likely it's easy to drink and not as weak as some so people get drunk faster.

That said alcohol only makes violent people violent, if you don't have it in you you're not going to suddenly start beating people up.

It really does depend on what kind of personality you have at the end of the day. I myself am very soppy when intoxicated and sometimes mischievous, but their is always someone spoiling for a fight and those kinds of people should really steer clear of alcohol!

It's just cause it's strong. The only drink which does make a difference to aggression levels is buckfast abbey. That is laced with caffeine and in conjunction with it's high alcolhol level, it makes people much more aggressive.

Used to drink Stella heavily and all it did was put me to sleep. But when me and my mates where on the Buckfast, it was a guaranteed wrecking spree.

I used to drink Stella when I was younger, can't say it ever made me agressive. Can't stand the stuff now, or any lager to be honest.

I think it's all about social enviroment, more than what the person is drinking.

Newky Brown (Newcastle Brown Ale) is another that's said to bring out the bad side in people too. Someone said it's something to do with the hops used.

I don't believe any of the nonsense about certain drinks getting people more/less/worse drunk than others. It's purely down to alcohol content and the person's mood.

I wholeheartedly disagree. How is it that one drink can have a seemingly normal intoxicating effect, while another turns someone violent, or makes them throw up a lot quicker/earlier? Mood, while surely a factor, can not be the only factor aside from alcohol content.

In the interest of science I have just necked 10 cans of stella, the wife now has a blackeye but she brought it upon herself. Tomorrow I'm having ten kronnies. I will let you know the outcome.

I think that certain drinks get people into different kinds of drunk. I'm fine with vodka but fall asleep with cider for example.

What about those alcopop drinks that send (more often women) into hyperglycaemic drunked states.
