This arived on rental this morning along with Eledees.

Ive been a big fan of the TW series on the PC as being one of the consistently good EA sports games.

This is NOT a Wii bashing thread and im aware that gameplay rules over everything else.

BUT...

Personally, having played the PC version for a few years, this one just looks, feels and plays like a total skid stain.

The graphics are worse than that of a PS2 in my opinion and the controls feel very loose and sometimes awkward, especially when putting.

There appears to be only 1 audio sample of the crowd which becomes repetive and the overall production quality seems VERY low.

Seems to have been a very rushed title with not much to offer really.

Heres hoping TW 2008 is totally re-hauled with better graphics, better controls, better audio and online play a MUST.

Rant Over.

Im off to play Eledees... NOW that is what you call a fun game :)

Yeah, this is why I didn't get it - and I was so looking forward to it too.

EA got caught with their pants down when the Wii took off massively whilst the PS3 (which they'd hedged their bets on being the next big thing) failed to meet expectations. Ever since, they've been playing catch-up... they even admitted this during their last financial conference call.

Only good news is that they admitted they were aware of this and went on record saying they'll be devoting massive resources to the Wii from now on, so hopefully things will improve.

On a similar note, I saw that Ubisoft's CEO has gone on record too saying that they were guilty of just doing naff ports to the Wii instead of dedicating proper resources and doing things properly. Prince of Persia was another game I was really looking forward to - although I was less annoyed by this one than TW07, as I didn't play the GCN version of PoP the first time round. Again, they've officially said they have learnt their lesson and promise not to do it again :)

Annoyingly.. especially as Wii Golf is a "Pack In", the control system is miles better on Wii Sports Golf... go figure?

Not really much of a suprise tho as it was ported from a PS2 version in less than 8 weeks.. which included testing.

.. Ive heard tho that 2008 is meant to greatly improved in both graphics and controls.

All I personally want is is a proper full version of Wii sports golf keep the control system the same and give us 5 or 6 full courses and a career mode and I'll be happy :)

I'm relying on Mario Golf to do the business on this front assuming one comes out.

Agreed. Tiger Woods is tripe.

I'll certainly pick up Super Swing Golf if it gets half decent reviews. It should do nicely untill the inevitable Mario Golf comes out (let's hope it's more N64 than GC)

Should do, it's been a good seller for Nintendo in the past - both the N64 and the GC ones sold just under 1.5 million each, and the Wii is crying out for a new Mario Golf!

I agree, I got the 2004 version and decided to get the 07 game, and tbh its not changed apart from the graphic's, the game play it totally the same bland motion.

very dissapointing :(

I remember the reviews saying the controls sucked. I played Wii sports thinking, god wait till the big franchises get a hold of this sucker. Tiger, Fight Night, MLB could be great, but alas it is not to be.

Is there plans for a Mario Toadstool golf game on the Wii? i quite enjoyed that on the cube.

could still happen, now that developers are cottoning-on to the fact they can't just be lazy and not do things properly whilst riding on the back of the Wii's success. Maybe these bad games were necessary so we'll get decent games from now on.

Well, I can dream, eh?

Best not to jump to conclusions due to one obviously rushed and awful game. If Mario Golf turns out to be pants then we can moan.
