Wikipedia down in UK only?

I have just noticed that I cannot load wikipedia at all in the UK, but it loads fine when I connect through a VPN to another country.

Why would this be?

Nope it's fine on my connection and I'm in the UK. Routing issues with your ISP maybe.

Working fine here. Might be a DNS issue. Using Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 here.

I was just about to post the same thing. It loads through my VPN connected to a UK server, but not without.

Edit: Virgin Media and AdGuard DNS

Virgin Media, I can ping the domain fine so it can't be a dns issue.

I am on virgin media and I can connect to wiki uk, Ireland etc with no issues.

Not with my VPN they aren't.

It's back up now so who knows what was going on, checking around a lot of people in Europe had problems today.

I'm getting the same guys, and like others said, I can spoof a different country on my VPN and it works.

PlusNet here.

Also, someone here mentioned Cloudflare. Does anyone know how to get rid or any workaround? In the browser's status bar, I occasionally see "waiting for Cloudflare", also waiting for ajax.googleapis.com, and waiting for maxcdn.bootstrap.com. Then the site times out.

Multiple browsers, devices. VPN sometimes gets around the issue but not always. Cloudflare, Googleapis and Maxcdn all seem to be recent things. The internet was better / more responsive when these weren't around. 5+ years ago.

Odd; it's become really responsive for me just randomly clicking on page links within page links on PN.

I'm connected via ptn-ag04.plus.net.
