Right, I have a spare wireless modem/router, a Dlink 604 and a netgear dg834 that is used for my network and adsl connection (this is upstairs).

Would the dlink downstairs connect to the netgear over a wireless connection so that I could connect my xbox 360 through a wired connection into the dlink downstairs.

I'm just trying to save buying a wireless adaptor for my xbox 360

Cheers

Why don't you try it and see it it works mate ? ;) i don't think it will work because you need an access point not another wireless router :(

You need an wireless/ethernet bridge rather than an access point, although many models do support operation in both modes.

Its possible that your router might be able to operate in bridge mode, best dig deep into the settings and see.

You need the access point to work as a client of the Netgear.
To all intents and purposes it's a bridge, whether it will or not though.
