Will a phone bought from another EU country work 100% in the UK?

I see that a particular phone is different prices in different countries. I can order it cheaper from amazon.fr, amazon.es and amazon.de. Are there any disadvantages to buying one from there? e.g. will it work as a UK phone and would it still receive updates while here?

Thanks.

With iPhones, the same hardware version is sold across the EU. Due to support of different operating frequencies and technologies, there’s USA, China and Rest of World hardware versions.

As far as working as a U.K. phone goes, iPhones load the parameters agreed between Apple and network X on detecting that the Simcard inserted belongs to network X.

So putting an EE UK simcard in an unlocked EU spec. iPhone will give you the exact same operation and menu settings as buying the same iPhone from an EE UK shop.

A minor note on this: phones will often be set as default to their local language. So if you buy a phone from Amazon.de, make sure you can find the language settings even in German so you can swap them to English (UK).
