Will a single 460 fit my needs?

Hi,

I am still running my 8800GTS 640 and it still covers most of needs but it would be nice to get a smoother framerate in 1920x1080, I am not going to game at above this resolution so i'm wondering if i'm wasting my money going for anything more powerful than a 460 or if I will even notice much of a difference?

As long as I can play in 1080P with high settings and a smooth framerate and some AA i'm happy so i'm thinking of dropping my budget and saving my cash as I originally wanted a 570 but £300 is just too much for me right now, those days where I can spend that kind of money on a GPU have gone unfortunately

Also, is the 560 worth waiting for or will none reference 460's be quicker than reference 560's?

Thanks

I game at 1080 using a single 460 and it works a treat, especially when you OC to around 800MHz core (which i'm yet to see one not achieve).

The 560 will be about 12.5% faster than a 460 @ 800MHz, however I can see it costing around £200. Which makes the 460's currently low pricetag even more tempting.

Personally I'd grab a Gigabyte 460 SOC, and skip the 560.

Sorry i'm not much of an overclocker, my 8800 is 4 years old and never been clocked, I always prefer to buy a factory clocked card which makes the Gigabyte 460 cards tempting but as the 560 is due out it seems a bit daft

I'm happy with £200, thats what i'm thinking of dropping my budget too

I game at 1080p with a single 460. Fantastic card. Runs everything at high settings. The only things I have to lower detail on are Crysis, GTAIV and Metro 2033.
