Will a sound card fit in?

Well you said that I shouldn't bother with the FiiO, therefore I have an extra £60. Wondering if I might as well spend more than the £130 that the Aego's cost, for a better system.

EDIT: Not really a big fan of 2nd hand.

Looks nice, better sound quality than the Aego?

going by reviews yes ... just do a basic search on it ... its on teh river site as well

its also a mini home cinema unit .. the decoding /amp/sub are in teh main unit .. you can add 3 extra speakers if you so wnted for 5.1

going by your mobo manufacturer website .. your mobo does Lossless 24-bit/192KHz HD Audio .. so feed this via optical and your laughing

Seems really good. Great reviews on the river site. I'll probably buy this next week. +2 optical cables for my Mac and PC. Thanks for all the help. I really am completely clueless when it comes to sound systems.

Regards,
Mike

I managed to find the right cable for my iMac, Mini-Toslink to Toslink. However, my mobo, as you say, has an optical output. Well I'm looking on the I/O Panel on the back and none of the sockets look anything like a Toslink. They all look like 3.5mm jacks. What's up with that?

Mike

EDIT: Problem solved. It's 6 x 3.5mm + an Optical and Coax. I thought it meant 6 opticals so was looking for 6 toslinks. I found the one toslink.

Okay guys, the system came yesterday and the cables, today. I set it up and the sound quality is fantastic. Battlefield 3 is spectacular. It was like wearing my headphones, but better! Can't recommend them enough.

I couldn't get them working with the iMac, as detailed here: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=22683743#post22683743
but, that's a problem with the iMac and not the speakers.

Thanks for all the help,
Mike
