LOL, so typical.

It's odd that some incident with John Wayne from decades ago is used as an example of "inequality", they don't know what his intentions were - was he going to assault her as per Will Smith or was he going to go on stage and grab the mic as per Kanye West vs Taylor Swift at the VMA awards.

But he was... restrained by security guards. Decades later, in recent times, those other celebrities have not been restrained by security guards, they've been able to get onto the stage and grab the mic or commit an assault. Presumably, hesitant to act because they're not regular unknown guests but they're celebrities.

The main inequality here is simply that celebrities can get away with something like this and there is a debate backstage over what to even do about it when a non-celebrity would simply have been immediately detained and then ejected by security.

But the slap was so exagerated. It was a comedy slap surely.

Maybe thats just how Smith slaps. If you look at the footage after the slap, look at Rocks eyes and then look at the footage from about 10mins later of Rock stood toward the rear of the stage, you can see in both of those that he looks a little bewildered, as if he is trying to comprehend what just happened. Either he's a far better actor than I credited him with, even when he didnt know the camera was on him (in the case of the 2nd piece of footage) or he absolutely was not expecting to be slapped. Hence why I dont think it was staged.
