Will the buzzing on my gt30 get better?

The buzzing is inherent in the technology and is a combination of the plasma discharge and the power regulators driving the display. If you hold your ear close to the panel itself, you can definitely hear it. Whether it drives you mad or not is dependent on your hearing, the seating position and the environment (walls can reflect the sound plus if you have a STB with a fan in it you are unlikely to notice the plasma buzz).

I have 2 plasmas (Panny and Pioneer) and they both buzz depending on the image displayed. It's not a fault.

The tv is a foot from the back wall and I can hear it from 6 feet away, it must be a fault

It's worth mentioning that the x30 models are from the 2011 range and have been replaced by the x50 models. Hence the bargain deals from places like Currys to clear the stocks. At launch they were double the price. Once they're gone that's it.

I can hear my Pioneer from 9ft away if it is quiet. Whilst you MAY have one with a fault, it is inherent in the technology.

You may find that it changes depending on where you sit which would indicate it is being reinforced by the room acoustics.

Mine doesn't buzz at all.

this is what i want to hear, will ring up JL this weekend, when you watch a lot of suspense films or films with moments of silence its VERY annoying, and if it was normal, not fit for purpose, i can even hear it without actually seeing it its that bad, maybe i am particularly prone to hearing it but still i think its excessive

I've had a GT30 for just over a month and haven't heard any buzzing. I've been listening quite closely as well because I was concerned about fan noise but thankfully they're quiet as well (can't say the same for my V+ box fan when it starts up though!)

In my old house i used to get an awful buzz from the TV and a small hummm from my speakers, it was just noise in the power supply in the house. It was reduced when i wacked a £25 mains conditioner on it. I may add the buzz was not as bad as yours to start with so your mileage may vary. Also in my current flat if i plug my electric toothbrush charger into the wall i can hear a buzzing from the tv in the next room..... again i presume the charger generates noise in the sine waves in the electrics which cause the power circuitry to go mad.

Another thing you could try is to turn all the sockets in the house off, unplug all appliances and just put the tv in, might show you if there is interfearance from something else.
