*WIN* Alpenföhn Matterhorn Pure Edition CPU Cooler

Offered chance to win free gear...still complains.

See that the point, I don't have Fecesbook therefore i'm ineligible.

I know loads of companies do this to promote their products and while it probably works it seems unoriginal and boring. That and other people who don't have Facebook can't enter, these should cater to as many people as possible and not a select crowd.

So what do you suggest?

A simple 1 question one's like you used to do? Where you'd have to read about the product then answer correctly, or something along those lines. Could be limited to OcUK forum users, members of other forums or the whole general public. I'd like to know about the product beforehand and whether it'll be of any use to me, not just clicking 'Like' for the sake of it and then possibly winning something and no using it/selling it off.

Personally if this competition was like that then I wouldn't enter as i'm more than happy with my Antec Khuler and other people who genuinely needed this to improve their cooling would have a better chance of winning.

I like the creative competitions OcUK do (making things etc.) as it's different from the norm and you can have a laugh at doing it, hopefully other companies might follow suit?

I find it hilarious that people are given the chance to win things, its completely free to enter, all you have to do is sign up to another website to get your entry through.

Especially when you could have signed up for an account in the same time it takes to write your replies anyway.

Plus, do you complain when they run competitions where the only way to enter is to buy a certain product from the store? Since that requires you to actually spent money, as opposed to being a free competition?

The massive sense of entitlement that some people have staggers me.

What ever competition we do there is a complaint. We did a creative one which was a design an OcUK wallpaper, had lots of entries however people were complaining as it was limited to creative people who could use design programs.

We just cannot win sometimes ourselves, and it seems like some people are unappreciated that we give thousands of pounds away a month!

We have great competitions lined up for the forum members too, soon.

5UB, this reminds me, what happened about my idea? (Its a while ago now so I expect its been forgotten) I had the impression it was something you were considering.

The great idea wasn't approved, as much I really like the idea. Maybe someday soon when more competitions are running. :)

That's a shame, never mind. Thanks for replying.

OcUK competitions are great. :)

Might rejoin FB to enter this one. ;)

Wrong, you don't want to get facebook, you're not ineligible. There's a difference.

It's like if a competition requires emailing saying you're ineligible because you don't use email.

You are perfectly within your right to choose not to use facebook, but you also choose not to enter the competition. You have to accept it's the widest used platform for reaching customers on the internet, it's going to be used for this sort of thing. In the end OcUK run many types of competitions for all crowds (whether random number, facebook, art competitions, question) you literally have nothing to complain about!
