I am getting Unmountable Boot Volume Blue Screen when I try to boot up Windows XP Pro.

I think the windows files could be corrupt. Unfortunately there is a lot of unbacked up work on the drive (not my machine by the way) and I don't want to risk losing any of it.

If i was to repair windows with the cd, would there be a risk of losing any data?

The alternative I have is to plug the drive into an adapter and access the data from another machine.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

cheers for the link ,I'm downloading 'slax' right now . I havn't heard of that before .I normally link the drive to another PC/laptop in order to get data off , you can scan for virus's too while your at it. But I'll try this 'slax' out .
