Thought it would be a good idea to have a thread regarding the administration and deployment of Windows 10

I'll jot down a few bits, and I'll tidy up as we go on

RSAT Tools - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=45520

Deploying via SCCM 2012 R2 - Requires Service Pack 1

Group Policy Templates - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48257
Copy to your policydefinitions folder (usually in sysvol/policies)

Configuring the Start Screen Bar - https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn467928.aspx

On an existing Windows 10 machine
Windows Powershell > export-startlayout -path c:\startscreen.xml
Open in notepad and edit as you see fit
Copy into sysvol
GPO to point to xml file

Investigating how to always show the address bar in Edge, but struggling

RSATs aren't available yet, correct, so it's a bit dead in the water for now as far as enterprise usage goes.

I need to refresh my memory on how Microsoft see imaging working in Windows 10. For what I remember it involves using the image supplied with the machine and then applying a set of transformations over the top.

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/dn916113(v=vs.85).aspx

I intend to build a VM, perform updates, install office, appv5 client, do prearm command and capture back to SCCM

This will be my gold image (.wim) as part of my task sequence

Apajove taught me well :p

Different strokes for different folks, many like the build and capture process but not for me

Yes, I was disappointed to learn that the RSAT wasn't yet available. I was also unable to find out when Microsoft will release an update for KMS on Server 2008 R2 to support the Windows 10 keys - until they do that, I won't be able to activate any clients in my environment. Another thing holding me back is that McAfee won't be releasing a version of VirusScan Enterprise that supports Win10 until the end of this month at the earliest... so for now, I wait :)

Still waiting for the MDT 2013 update 1 to be released, looking forward to playing about this.

Applied the patches to the preview and deployed Windows 10 without any issues so far.

WICD seems a bit confusing. Not much in the way of guides out there at the moment, I thought it would be similar to WSIM.
