Windows 7 Aluminium Macbook drivers - hassle.com

Hi guys, have recently put windows 7 on my aluminium macbook, and nothing works - have got the original cds that I thought had the drivers for it , but they havnt.

Anyone know where I can get all the drivers for it so it will work nicely?

There is no official bootcamp driver pack for Windows 7 yet.

What about windows vista ones, shouldnt they work?

I thought the CDs that came with a macbook were supposed to work?

The version of Bootcamp that came with Snow Leopard has Vista drivers on, they may or may not work with all Macs and Windows 7, it works perfectly with my early 2008 Mac Pro but I've heard of people having issues with newer systems. It was reported that there would be an updated version of the bootcamp drivers out before the end of 2009 but that's not happened yet so it's really a case of try it and see whether you get lucky or not.

And don't make me blush!

The Snow Leopard disc works perfectly with Windows 7. Both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. It's a bit weird they don't just offer the drivers for download on the Apple website. This way people need to buy Snow Leopard to get Win7 working on their Macs....

It may work on some systems but it's not supported. Have a quick read of this Apple support item and then this article from El Reg today.

They won't once the updated bootcamp driver pack is available, it'll be a direct download from Apple.

I read something in PC Pro the other day about W7 not working smoothly on the new 27" iMac. It was a display driver problem, which could be solved by booting from the W7 disk and reverting to the default Windows display driver. Maybe a similar process would be helpful for you?

Personally, I'm just waiting for the next version of bootcamp before I install my copy of W7 - XP is working fine for now!
