having a bit of trouble with this one - on both my laptops with Windows 7, when the fingerprint software is configured to allow windows logon, it creates a faux "account" on the login screen, and if the fingerprint scanner was last used to login, then the next time the login screen is shown, the biometric "account" comes up.

what i want to do is hide the biometric "account", or at the least, set the actual account to come up by default. i've had a looksie on google but no-one seems to have found this to be an issue.

i imagine there's a hidden menu somewhere that will allow me to do this.

thanks in advance for any assistance.

Some interesting things here I think: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-59650.html

One says how to switch to 'regular windows logon'.

I also just read this:
The Windows Biometric Framework can also be managed through Group Policy. An administrator can enable or disable the entire framework, as well as manage what types of logons can use biometrics (for example, local and domain logons can be configured differently).

the first link is only relevant to the specific Lenovo login-replacement and security-enhancement software, which my thinkpad doesn't have because it's all crap.

the Microsoft link describes the details of the new microsoft biometric framework, it doesn't detail specific settings.

:(

Ah okay, tells you how to disable it though? :p
