I have noticed for a while my audio has a slight crackle\pop most noticeable with music playback if the PC has been on for a while.
This always resolves itself with a reboot.
Has anyone got any tips or suggestions?

Asus Maximus hero V111 onboard sound via USB > Shiit Modi 2 > Magni 2

Thanks in advance.

Thanks EsaT
My windows will not install the fix suggested there "KB4505903" , says the update is not applicable to my computer.
By "integrated" do you mean onboard, as in sound, if i disable it i have no sound?
Sorry if i am missing something obvious here.

It does sound like a DPC latency issue though, i have downloaded Latencymon, that shows no problem at the moment, but i will wait for the audio to go bad then try it.

Motherboard's integrated sound card isn't used for anything with any PCI-e or USB sound card.
Or devices with less features/functionality than sound cards called as DAC.
So might as well disable it in BIOS to avoid having unnecessary drivers running.

Latencymon should be run for as long until there are problems to see if problem is caused by DPC latency issues.
Drivers tab should then show from where to start looking for solution.

Try any of the following:

  • disabling Legacy USB Support in your BIOS
  • Update the driver to "USB Audio 2.0" via the device manager and selecting to search local drivers from a list (see below)

Failing that, plug it into a powered USB hub instead of direct to your PC.

Thanks Rossi, did this sort it out for you?
I have gone to optical and VLC, no problems so far, it may take a good few hours before it happens though!
If i decide to go back to USB i will do what you suggest.
Cheers
