windows live messenger and windows 7

This one's tiny but annoying, when someone starts talking to me on messenger the window stays minimised so I often don't realise someones said ello for ages after they been and gone.

Starting to annoy my dearest, how does one make a new chat window pop up maximised when someone starts talking? Was the default on XP but can't seem to find the option for this now

Doesn't the messenger symbol on the task bar flash Orange? Mine does. And also does a stupid sound alert

Hmmm, it does but if i've not seen it for whatever reason it stops after a while. I generally game full screen and can't seem to get in the habit of checking msn anytime I minimise or anything so i often miss it.
