Windows update just offered to update my drivers!

ok got a nvidia 8800GT, running vista 64 bit.
windows update just offered to update my drivers to ones released on 11/11/2009
has anyone else bothered using this?
not sure I trust MS to update my drivers for me. least of all graphics card ones!
not even sure I want to as I've not had any issues with the card, touch wood!

anyone got any advise? running the ones that came with the card (190.38?)

Well they will be newer ones but with graphics cards I always like to know what I am installing.

Id ignore any driver updates on Windows Update tbh

Windows Update is a strange beast when it comes to installing GFX drivers - every once in a while a 'new' one will pop up but typically it's a release or two out of date - I guess it's more for people who buy a PC and never think to update the drivers rather than for us 'enthusiasts'

I would normally advise to download & install the lastest drivers on nvidia own website....but there lastest drivers has been a little buggy for a fair few people on here...
