There is absolutely no reason what so ever to buy a 32-bit Operating System, unless you specifically know that you will have compatibility problems with the programs that you run and/or drivers aren't provided for your hardware which at this point in time is highly unlikely. Regardless of the amount of RAM you have, 64-bit is the way to go, without a shadow of a doubt.
A 64-bit platform is just much better; it is securer, more stable and faster.
