I trotted along to Dunsfold for the wings and wheels show yesterday and yup, took 2.5 hours to get in, traffic was a nightmare, turned out to be a glorious day though so that was cool

I made a fair few schoolboy errors, which suffice to say i wont be repeating

It was my first attempt at shooting aircraft, and taught me two things, on most of my shots my technique sucks, and I want a new lens that handles it better.

anyway a few of the least sucky ones.

thanks for looking.

fair point, my main problem all day was forgetting to change the settings between displays and when it moved from jets to props, its too fast and from props to jets too blurry, but like i said i wont be making that mistake again.

3rd one is pretty good in my opinion, the 1st one is a good composition, shame its a bit soft. Number 2 is ok but looks a bit bland, maybe if they had their colours turned on it would have been better, the last one is a tad soft, but I really like number 3. :)

I actually like number 2 and 3 a lot. V Spec mentions that its bland but I think that adds a certain atomospheric depth and perspective to it which works well with the other elements in photo. You really get the feeling that the Red Arrows are cutting through the sky and leaving the white contrails much like rips in a pillow (if you see what I mean)

I really like 3 as I think the composition is very interesting and because of the lack of prop blur combined with a bland sky makes the planes look like models suspended on string. Its a little but different from your usual prop plane photo.
