Watched the first series in the space of the last week and have now picked the first book up. Shall be swiftly moving on to the second as soon as it's done 
I never noticed how much of that stuff was actually CGI, which is a good thing. When you don't notice it is there, it shows that it works. Really nicely done, things have come a long way in recent years.

After just starting a re-read begining with clash of kings Ive only just remember about the whole children of the forest back story. Were these bits of history completely missed in the series, or was I half asleep and missed it??
It's 1 season per book, so it would possibly be included in the next season since Clash Of Kings is book 2.

They are mentioned in the first book a number of times iirc
I managed to read book one and two in about a week, couldn't put them down, however i'm really struggling with book 3, it just doesn't have me hooked, I find I don't really care much about what's going on, did anyone else have this problem?

Dude as Shami said, its really not rocket science not to leave open-ended questions about the later books in a thread which you KNOW only deals with the TV series and first books. Think about it, mull it over, and use your grey matter even if just once this week.
