I'm running vista 64 bit with sp1 on both my desktop and laptop. On each system I also have jv16 powertools 1.80.446 - a registry app and lavasoft adaware 7.0.2.7. Since running vista 64 bit over the last few weeks I've noticed problems running these two apps:
1. When running ad aware on a full scan, the app gets as far as scanning my registry and never progresses beyong that. The app doesn't appear to freeze, it just doesn't continue to scan other parts of the HDD and eventually I have to manually terminate the app, it becomes quite unresponsive.
2. jv16 powetools - that scans away but the issue here is that as it progresses it uses more and more system ram. I have 2gb installed on each and I've seen it use all but around 180mb of ram. The HDD thrashes away like mad.
It seems as if both apps don't really like vista 64 bit sp1 and I was wondering if there is a any known conflicts or if anyone else had experienced any similar issues. I've had a look on both app sites and can't see any reported issues with the OS I'm running.
