Wireless 'N' doing my head in!!

On Saturday I bought for a few reasons a TP-LINK Wireless N Gigabit Router TL-WR1043ND.

When I connect it, it connects to my laptop @ 300 mbps, then upto 5-6 minutes later, it drops to 130 mbps.

So, I thought I be clever and install the DD-WRT firmware, and its made no difference what-so-ever (appart from the admin interface is usable).

Now, I've read hundreds of articles about this, which include:-

Problems with DD-WRT software (although it does it with Stock firmware)
Network Card Drivers
Conflicts with Wireless 'G' Networks.

Nothing so far has fixed this, and I'm open to any help I can get. Thanks

could be interfearence from other wireless G networks

a wireless G client connected to your router

it actualy underclocking? and running slower because of the no throughput

try transfering some data accross it (large file) and see if it bumps up
