Its a wireless N transciever. You will only get N speeds (300Mb) if the access point is N, other wise it will default to wireless G (54Mb)

Something's wrong then mate, if it was connecting correctly it would show differently from that. Got a screen shot of the configuration for the wireless adapter and the routers wireless settings?

It's the damn card, did a load of googling, turns out this wireless card has major problems with Vista 64bit and 4GB ram configurations, exactly what I have :(

I hope OCUK will let me return it as i've tried every suggested workaround and none work, also constantly freezez up my system :(

Does your system freeze if you take it out? Sounds like a driver problem. Are there any newer ones released?

Nope, if I put the old card back in, no freezing, no problems. It is a driver problem, the suggestion is to get the drivers from the actual Ralink website who make the chipset, however their drivers don't make a difference. There are many posts on various forums where 64 bit vista users on 4GB of ram get constant lockups :(

I'm going to go back to my old card, which funnily enough on closer inspection is actual 108Mbps, so it's strange that I only got 54Mbps connection on that as well

108Mbps uses different tech, has to be supported on the router too. Assuming it is then I couldn't guess where to begin if it is configuered correctly.
