Hi,

I have a cable and wireless, wireless adsl router, which has been mostly workign fine... however it seemed that next door were using it as well, and slowing the network down, so I put a password on it, which caused it to become massivley unstable, and drop connections left right and centre. I subsequently removed this, and have performed a full factory reset, but it continues to be unstable, and computers can't stay connected to it for more than about 5 minutes without losing connection.

Does anyone have any ideas???

HEEELP!!!

Regards,

SS

What make of router is it. Certain models have been known to overheat with the load caused by encryption. It's possible continuous overheating could have permanently damaged it.
That or a faulty part that was on it's last legs has been pushed over the edge.
