I dont know if Im overlooking the obvious or want something that doesnt exist, but here goes...

I have a 50" Panny, PS3 and a Bose 2.1 system which makes up my home cinema kit. Ive used PS3mediaserver in the past to stream movies from a PC. However, if I were to ditch my desktop PC and buy a laptop to use in the front room, could I somehow sit and play with my laptop but stream the sound to the Bose system somehow wirelessly?

I know I can stream via ps3mediaserver, but can I somehow stream any sound from the laptop through the Bose/PS3?

iTunes & Airport Express?

Thats still streming though isnt it, I mean as so EVERY sound would come from the Bose, even Windows sounds etc.

I'm now wondering if an FM transmitter is the way to go? Just tune the Bose radio in to the signal of the FM transmitter?

Ah, now you've explained it better... have a look at this

Search the phrase "Wireless PC to Stereo Audio Transmitter" for an idea of the technology (USB stick @ PC, antenna box with phono out at the audio system, 2.4GHz wireless link) before seeing if OC supply something along the same lines.
