With my current build, should I not get bogged down for the fact that I cannot achieve 1800-200mhz D

Not to go into much detail on my build I am simply using:

980x (overclocked to 4Ghz)
580GTX Running in SLI mode (so x2)
Corsair Dominator GT operating at 1600 with 7-8-7-20 timings
X power big bang MOBO

Now I have been able to clock my processor to 4Ghz just not my ram to 2Ghz at the same time, or even 1800 for that matter as Im just having trouble overclocking them at the moment and don't really want to bother anymore, I spend more time tweaking with my PC then playing games so im going to stop now and just focus on the playing games part.

But as the topic suggests, I should be bogged down that I can't achieve 1800? Should I not give up or is it as such that the speed increase would be unnoticeable in real world performance.

You need to loosen your ram timings, try 9-9-9-24 and you may achieve higher frequencies.

As I said I just wanna chill out now and actually use my PC for gaming rather then constantly tweaking it days on end, so I don't think I will be overclocking further unless of course theres a huge difference between going from 1600-1800 or 2000, and from what you guys are saying, Im gonna be leaving it the way it is, I think the ram timings as they are now are very good and so no more tweaking : )

Thanks guys, as long as theres no major difference in performance, Im happy!
