Who cares about celebs? Surely it's more important about your wife/gf/or real people that you have in your life?

I think most men would prefer a woman with less make up/more natural look, but there aren't all that many that are pretty enough to pull it off.
The ones who do rely on make up more are probably the same who are more critical.

Yes, sometimes a little bit off make up can enhance features, like eyes for example. However, lots of foundation, slapping the lipstick on etc... just makes me roll my eyes. Fortunately I don't have to deal with that.

I didn't dare pitch in with my view that less is more and that I prefer natural beauty rather than that "healthy" satsuma glow on a woman. There's also the issue that skin should be able to breathe. Also, lipstick - ugh!

I don't really see how men can be critical of this. Women are damned if they do and damned if they don't in almost all aspects of their appearance.
Skinny? Pah look like a skeleton!
Short neat hair? Pah look like a lesbian!
Visible make up? Pah you look like a whore!
It depends on the girl and the look she is going for. I don't think I condemn anyone for that alone, unless they are truly orange.

I meant it'd be good to get their perspective on why women can be so critical of one another in this respect. Not, "what type of makeup floats your lesbo boat".
Personal preference: Little to no make-up. I'm very fortunate that my other half shares the same views.
There's something ridiculously hot about a pretty girl who can be totally at ease walking around looking totally natural without face cake on.
The amount of make-up generally dictates how hot a girl is.
Fat and ugly = Absolutely loads inc orange fake tan and hair extensions.
Tall, slim and beautiful = No need.

Personally i prefer minimal or natural beauty...not keen on women who cake the stuff on :/
Luckily for me my missus doesnt put a lot of makeup on, when she does its usually lipstick and eye liner which is fine by me.

I only do eye makeup as:
a) I cba and don't have time for it
b) It can get expensive
c) I am fortunate to have olive skin and don't need orange or layers of slap to even it out!
Eye shadow, liner and mascara for me. special occasions I might get out the foundation, powder and lipstick and maybe the false eyelashes.
Even with the small amount of make up I put on I feel like an ugly bint with nothing! :/
