Won't agree on postage

It's not really possible for me to cut down the postage as a combined.

how come ? cant think of many situations where its not possible

although i do get your point and he shouldn't be demanding such things. i guess what you do next depends on how desperate you are to get rid of whatever your selling. eg if you relist them will anyone buy them ?

As mentioned by Cupra - often there are postage weight (and size) thresholds where it becomes more expensive to post a combined package than two individual packages.

Hence it would be logical to send two separate packages - which will obviously cost exactly double the price of sending one - which is incidentally the price the buyer accepted when he clicked that he agreed to the seller's price (and postage price).

he could just be using it as an exuse to get out of buying the item;)
If it dont state and he did ask before he cannot exspect discount the buyer is not always right!

I hate the the buyers do this. I've got a pre-written eBay template stating my TOS below the listing that I don't do discounted postage. I get raped by eBay selling fees and PayPal take a cut too so I have to pass it on to make it back from the P&P.

i was after a cosair 800d from a auction site and it was up for £140 as a buy it now,now that price grabbed me until i see the postage...£20,i sent the seller a nice e-mail with a link to parceltogo and said it was only £6.00 to send the case and you dont have to leave the house,he replied with "im sending it by royal fail and that's that !".

it was obvious he didnt want to help but if that was me i would always help someone with the postage and packing.

cant understand some people to be honest with you.

If this is for two separate auctions, then surely it would be safer to send two for obvious reasons. If the buyer is paying via Paypal, you will only have proof of one item being sent, when he purchased two. Seems like a charge back opportunity to me.

Which you are not allowed to do.

No, this isn't the case. If aruffell combined the postage then he would be completely covered.

It's obvious by the fact he won't link to the auction or say what the items are that he's charging over the odds P&P to avoid eBay fees, as buchtis does. Plus, we all know what aruffell is like.

It's likely, but not obvious as someone else has shown above

Since we have no idea what the items are, its impossible to say.
9 times out of 10 ou can discount the postage easily enough. Explain to the buyer why it will cost double the amount. If you are in the right, there will not be an issue.

If you were to combine them and not pass on any discount I would feel a bit letdown as a
buyer but if you could demonstrate that it is better to send them as 2 items then he does
not have a point.

I would personally try to get a non-payment case raised and relist as he might try and
shaft you later.

Typical, i can't go to sleep without theories being blasted everywhere :D I do have a life outside of these forums.

The reason why it can't be seperate is due to one of the items being with a friend as they were used to test.

He can't get here due to the extreme snow conditions in kent. Due to this, we'd have to post seperate regardless.

Either way, the buyer surely accepted my terms when he bidded or he was a plank and didn't read the listing.
