Wordpress posts on non blog site

For all you WP gurus!

Currently have a website, and off the main directory I've installed wordpress (latest version).

The index.php of the main site has NO wordpress code at all, no headers, no pointers to the WordPress installation absolute zilch.

However on the front page I want the last 4 news articles from wordpress shown (as well as the index.php been RSS enabled).

I've tried to look at the PHP code but it's absolute meaningless to me, I'm a PHP virgin!

Anyone got any tips on how I can do this please.

You'll want to select the last four rows from the wp_posts table within the wordpress mysql db sorted by post_modified row.

Goolge or flick through http://www.freewebmasterhelp.com/tutorials/phpmysql for a brief insight.

I don't know anything about wordpress really so can't help much.

And would the also make the front page RSS feedable(?) as well?
