Work Canada 2011

Oh god I once took the Greyhound from Calgary to Vancouver and will never use the bus for long distances like that again.

When I was visiting Canada quite often (2002-2006) the difference between flying and taking the bus was around £50 when travelling from Calgary to Vancouver.

I would check all options before using the bus, I guess for the experience you may want to try it, but then you'll probably realise just how big Canada really is!

Yeah I did look at a map and thought 'Calgary to Vancouver doesn't look that far' then looked at where Whistler (my final destination) was, being comparatively right next to Vancouver, and realised how wrong I was!
 
Quick question to who has filled in the IEC form: On section B where it says 'Details of Intended Work in Canada (not applicable to WHP)'
Did you just leave this blank? as i will be using the BUNAC system but dont have any work lined up as yet?
 
I left that section black and just put N/A

As its impossible for us to fill it out if we are going out there and looking for a job!

My form has been sent to London for the last process! fingers crossed!
 
OK so I am not so keen on Air Transat as I don't think they are very flexible - I'm not sure when I will be coming home. BA seems like the best option then for ~£600 return. Air Canada is similar. Anyone know any way of reducing this?

I have gone on my own, mate. I arrived on Thursday and stayed in a Hostel. Today I have moved into an apartment which is shared with somebody else.
I have a job interview lined up for tomorrow, but with my arriving near the end of the week I haven't heard back from many people as it has been the weekend.
 
Right, so I went with BA in the end :). Does anyone have much experience with buying kit out there? I'm guessing buying skis would be the best option if I'm spending the season there, I can't see renting them being feasible. I have done a reasonable amount of skiing but I suspect I'll improve a lot over my time there, so it may be difficult for me to choose the skis. Buying them now in the summer may however be cheaper than in Whistler so I don't know, if anyone has any input, that would be great :).

I also need travel insurance - does anyone have any recommendations?
 
Quick question for anyone who might have been on this:

Is working for a Canadian employer part of the T&Cs of the visa? Reason being, the majority of my work is freelance (web design/dev) and I could continue working for current clients anywhere really.
