I'm just after some advice regarding an incident which occurred this morning.
A colleague has managed to swing his car door into the rear offside door panel of my car with a lot of help from the wind. On him telling me what had happenedI wasn't expecting much more than a scuff on the rub strip, a simple fix I thought. Unfortunately, on seeing the damage, he has managed to put a healthy dent in the door skin behind and above the rub strip as well as ever so slightly creasing the door about 6" further up the panel. No paint damage to the skin, only the rub strip.
He has been in touch with various paintless dent removal specialists and I am awaiting a phonecall from one of them. The rub strip will cost £42+paint. I have booked it in at my local bodyshop for a quote next tuesday but I suspect their quote will include a new skin and lots of paint.
Does he need to inform his insurers of the incident just in case I decide follow this route? and how good are these paintless dent removal companies? I've never used one before.
Not happy
Cheers.
