Well done Spain, deserved.

Confused how anyone could possibly even consider that Holland deserved to get anything from tonight's game, and dismissing Hansen for speaking the truth about the dirty dutch is just pathetic, some of you need to get your heads checked. Yes Spain went down pretty easily and hounded the ref for cards but it bemuses me that so many English people seem to see this as being far worse than booting the other team around the pitch for the whole match.

Holland deserved nothing more than several red cards from tonight's game, that was one of the dirtiest and most cynical performances I have ever seen from a team in a major final. I can't explain how glad I am to see them lose, I just wish Van Bommel had been sent off and would have liked to see Robben cry at the end...

It always seems to be Xabi on the end of challenges like these :p

hehe, I do remember Xabi doing something somewhat similar to Lampard, and Lampard getting sent off.

Two more examples of awful 4-5-1/4-3-3's not working at all. RVP, Villa both looked completely isolated and uninvolved, as both strikers have all tourney, if you remember Villa I think has only started as the single striker in the first game, which he looked uninvolved and they lost, otherwise he's started on the wing and played great there. Torres has sucked as a lone striker(but his touch has been embarassingly poor on top, where Villa wasn't, just zero delivery), RVP has barely touched the ball in the entire world cup.

The bald geezers, as the rest of the tournament, were all about hogging the ball, no delivery and taking the shot themselves, no lucky deflections or poor defences/keepers to take advantages of tonight.

The commentary after the final whistle was embarassing, INiesta has been the best player in the tournament, dived more than anyone else, for sure, poor first touch, some awful decision making and restricted to a handful of decent passes in the whole tournament, yup. Yet again Spain change when Fabregas comes on, and he gets the assist, no idea how he hasn't started every game.

The sending off was appauling, if you remember the first yellow Heitinga got a yellow, when a freekick wasn't even given. Iniesta dived, alonso kicked it out about 15 seconds later, there was no advantage, the ball had gone miles backwards, no freekick, the disaster that is Webb then went to check on the player then gave Heitinga the yellow, and went on with a dutch throw. Sorry but no freekick, a dive, and a yellow? The second yellow was almost as bad, Iniesta lost the ball, felt a tiny tiny touch on his shoulder, put his arm back to make it look like it had been pulled and went over with zero contact making him go down.

Puyol should have been off for a second yellow on Robben when he attempted to rugby tackle him after his mistake, he didn't take him down but without doubt threw him off his stride, its a foul, last man back, could be a straight red, certainly a second yellow.

How De Jong wasn't sent off I'll never know, I remember Skrtel getting away with one of those when he flying kicked Jo in the back, and Evans on Drogba, all straight reds with LONG bans for utterly disgusting and violent play.

Ref was absolutely shocking throughout, the dutch had as many golden chances as Spain, so I find it hard to say they went in the game just to kick the crap out of Spain, both sides were pretty awful for 90 minutes(well both the best part of 120 to be honest). The dutch got done for Iniesta diving more than them fouling and the Spanish reactions mostly were pathetic all around, pretend to be dead pretend to be dead, yellow card, jump up and leg it forward.

Both teams were an embarassement in quality and diving/cheating/fouling, the ref was a joke, the refs that let both teams get to the final were jokes.

By FAR the best footballing side that played good passing football with great flowing attacks, was Germany, screwed out of their best player for the Spain game.

I really didn't want anyone to win, and was absolutely gutted that Iniesta, the single worst cheat of both squads got the winning goal, thoroughly undeserved on his part. Feel completely let down to be honest.

Thats three top teams who all played truly awful players in defensive midfield, Melo, Bommel, Busquets, who all cheated, deserved more yellows than they got, and all three teams ended up playing packed midfields to try and make up for the lack of quality in those players, and all three teams had massive trouble getting their strikers involved due to the slow and useless play by said players.

Spain weren't half the team of the Euro's, and the cup in general was pretty poor quality, I don't even think Germany were that great, but still played easily the best attacking and defensive football.

I fully agree with everything drunkenmaster said.

Germany best team, ref was so bad, too much over acting by the Spanish players etc.
